‘RHONY’ Cast Member LuAnn De Lesseps Claims Jill Zarin Got Her The Reality Show Gig

RHONY cast member LuAnn de Lesseps didn’t get her job with Bravo by chance. According to her, it was Jill Zarin who introduced her to producers.

“She invited me to her 4th of July shindig in the Hamptons and told me she was working on a reality TV show,” de Lesseps recalled to Resident Magazine, according to a January 8 report by Reality Tea. “When I came back in August she told me I’d be perfect for the show and I met with the production people, interviewed, and got it.”

Although de Lesseps, who split from boyfriend Jacques last year, has had some not-so-fun moments on the show, she doesn’t regret sharing anything with fans.

“I try not to live my life with regrets. I’ve gotten to sing with Natalie Cole, write a book, had all these amazing trips, so absolutely no regrets.”

That said, there are certain things the RHONY cast member chose to keep away from the cameras, namely her divorce.

“I always put my family first. Just because you’re on a reality show you don’t have to drag out all your marital problems on the show. People knew I was having problems at the time but I didn’t want to play that out and have it out there forever.”

De Lesseps also allows her two children to live their lives away from the prying eye of Bravo fans.

“They aren’t on the show that much. I’ve brought them on to highlight things they like to do, like riding in the Hampton Classic or breakdancing lesson.”

“Of course when you have new women there’s a different dynamic, and for the most part I get along with most of the girls at this point. We’re still filming so that could change, you never know.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Bethenny Frankel will be a part of the Season 7 RHONY cast. Unfortunately, her return, after three seasons away from the reality show, hasn’t been without conflict.

“Ramona is absolutely outraged that Bethenny is making a million dollars, especially after her failed talk show,” an insider told Radar Online last month. “But Bethenny wasn’t going to come back earning less than any of the housewives, and held out to be paid the most.”

“It’s especially frustrating for Bethenny’s co-stars because she isn’t bringing the drama that was expected.”

The RHONY cast will return to Bravo for Season 7 later this year.
