Judd Apatow Slams Phylicia Rashad’s Support For Bill Cosby

Filmmaker Judd Apatow is continuing to speak out against Bill Cosby. His latest series of tweets are aimed at not only Cosby, but his supporter and co-star Phylicia Rashad. After weeks of remaining silent about Cosby’s multiple rape allegations, the comedian’s TV wife is providing support for her colleague.

Apatow tweeted at the Wrap’s Twitter account to pose a question about Rashad’s statement.

“Phylicia- how many women need to be raped before you realize he destroyed his own legacy? 40? 50?”

He continued, “For me it’s one.”

In her statement, Phylicia begged the media and fans to see past “these women” who are coming together to speak out about their alleged experiences with Cosby.

As the Inquisitr reported, Rashad said the following regarding the allegations.

“Forget these women. What you’re seeing is the destruction of a legacy. And I think it’s orchestrated. I don’t know why or who’s doing it, but it’s the legacy. And it’s a legacy that is so important to the culture.”

Cosby has been accused of drugging and/or sexually molesting twenty plus women throughout his career. This isn’t the only time Judd Apatow took Cosby and his supporters up to task. Apatow, who had a run on the stand up circuit before he became a director and producer of hits like Knocked Up and The 40-Year-Old Virgin, is very vocal.

Prior to his tweets at the Wrap, Apatow was against Bill taking the stage at the Centre Square in Ontario. “Is Cosby only popular in Ontario Canada at this point? Do people still find him delightful after 30 accusers?”

Almost immediately, defenders of Cosby tweeted at Apatow. Judd’s response was simple.

“I guess it’s because guys who rape a lot aren’t cool. I always wonder why some people try so hard to not believe women who have been assaulted. What is the root of that?”

Although Judd Apatow seems horrified at Cosby’s actions, he is having a bit of fun retweeting his defenders’ tweets to him, and getting a jab in when he can.
