Parents Sons Police Fayetteville: Parents Turn In Two Sons After Recognizing Them On The News

Parents turned their sons into police in Fayetteville after they saw a video of a burglary and recognized their boys as two of the suspects. According to ABC 7, the 14- and 16-year-old brothers broke into a store called Tech Boyz in the early morning hours Monday. The boys’ parents told the police that their sons were staying home with an older sibling on the night of the robbery, but the boys decided to go out with friends and may have taken part in the burglary because of peer pressure.

“I’m just glad the parents decided to do the right thing. To the ones who turned them in, thank you. I hate if it’s your kids, but thank you for doing the right thing,” said Jesse Hill, the co-owner of Tech Boyz. Police say that there were other teens involved in the burglary, but two of them have still not been identified. The names of the boys have not been released.

The parents who turned their sons into Fayetteville police evidently realized that they needed to do what was right. While that may have not been the easiest thing to do, the teens need to face the consequences of their actions. According to the Fayetteville Observer, the boys were only in the store for a short amount of time, but the damage was done. Not only did they cost the store a lot of money for the damage they did breaking in, but the teens also got away with some tech items. Cellphones and cases, a laptop computer, and a tablet were all taken in the break-in. It’s unknown if the kids turned in any of the items.

The two brothers and one other 16-year-old were charged with breaking and entering and larceny. It is unknown what punishment they are facing, but they are being tried in juvenile court. There was no information available on bail or an upcoming court date.

The parents who turned their sons into Fayetteville police are likely hoping that their sons learn a lesson. Parents call police for incidents involving their kids quite frequently. While a parent hopes to never have to do such a thing, there are several stories like this one that surface every year. And then there are other stories that are a bit more peculiar.
