Derek Hough, Mystery Woman Get Close Weeks After Kate Hudson Dating Rumors
Derek Hough and a mystery woman were spotted together on the beaches of St. Bart’s on Thursday, and now many are wondering what happened to Kate Hudson. Last month, rumors popped up that Hough and Hudson had started dating not long after her split from Matt Bellamy was made public. The Mail Online shared the photos of Hough hugging a brown-haired woman on the beach, and the pair is featured spending time together in other photos as well.
Who is this mystery woman? Her identity was not revealed, but it is obvious from the photos that Derek is enjoying his time on the beach with the woman. The Dancing with the Stars pro was dressed casually in a pair of shorts, shirt, and a backwards baseball. His companion wore a barely there mismatched bikini.

What about Kate Hudson? Where was she while Derek spent his holiday in St. Bart’s? The actress enjoyed her holidays in Aspen with her family. In fact, Us Magazine reported that Bellamy also attended the festivities. The couple has split, but Bellamy is now considered “family” by Kate and her family. Hudson and Bellamy began dating 2010, and they became engaged in 2011 after she gave birth to their son.
The Inquisitr previously reported on the rumors of a relationship between Hudson and Hough, after the pair was seen out together at a bar in Los Angeles on December 5. Sources claimed that Derek and Kate were kissing during the outing.
TMZ did try to confirm the dating rumors by asking Derek about them. However, Hough played coy when he was asked about his relationship with Kate Hudson. He told the man who stopped him outside a Tony Robbins seminar held in Boca Raton that “it was not the time or place” for the question. Before the video cut off, he said that he and Kate were just “enjoying themselves.”
Are Derek and Kate dating? Or has Derek had another woman capture his attention so quickly? Derek has been linked to Nina Dobrev and his DWTS partner Bethany Mota, but he has not had a serious relationship since things ended between him and Cheryl Cole. Hough has been working his autobiography, and new reports have revealed that he has written Cheryl and his relationship with her out of the book.
A source said the following, according to Mail Online, “Derek honestly thought Cheryl was the one when they were together. He doted on her every word and helped her come back emotionally after the split with Ashley. He was also at her bedside morning, noon and night when she suffered her malaria scare after their break to Africa.”
Cheryl ended their relationship in 2011, after she decided to move back to England. The split, according to the source, devastated Derek.
