I've read “Twilight.” I have to admit that I love the storyline, but I have to say that I agree with King – Meyer cannot write. Have you seen some of the sentences she's put together in those books??

Mr. King, you are my hero. I hate Twilight, and to hear such words come from my favorite Author fills me with immense joy.

You need to read your own books then!!!
Meyer is the most amazing writer on this planet!

If nobody likes his books, then why is he one of the richest and most popular authors in the country. Why are so many movies made based off of his books? I think you're just angry because he's telling the truth and you know it.

Read some of Stephen King's writings and watch some of his movies.

I have. I've compared his work to Meyer's work. He won by a mile. He knows what he's doing, unlike Meyer, who's just writing her Mormon Wet Dream.

Hahahah listen to the little girls squeal 'YOU'RE JEALOUS!'. I dont think so somehow. I'm sure Mr King is pretty comfortable and confident in the enormity of his own success. Its an opinion (and in my opinion one well based in fact) and he has every right to express it and the credibility to do so too. Im glad u like Meyers stories, keep loving them and just deal with the fact that not everybody gushes over her romantic pap wrapped in poor writing.

Regardless of Stephen King's abilities as a writer or popularity with the public who reads his books, I think it is quite disgraceful on his part to knock down a fellow writer. I've read all the Twilight books, but have also read several of Stephen King's novels. There really is no comparison as they are obviously writing to two very different audiences. The point I'm trying to make is that regardless of who writes what and how popular one author gets versus the other I think it is incredibly poor taste for Stephen to come out and bash Stephenie. What is the point? He is successful in his own right and now so is she….sometimes people need to keep opinions to themselves.

Stephen King Has more fans then Meyer does i love the twilight books but if you gave me a choice between stephen king and meyer i would choose king

Ok People why are you commenting on this!!! Even though I am… Still you guys are like actually fighting on the internet!! Well I am Going to put my opinion. I think the are bot great writers, weither you like it or not , they both made history!! I think you could say he hit below the belt. The way Meyer writes, She makes you feel like Bella, The sentence Structure is suppose to be like that, instead of making it to be like a book instead of a life story, they both write about different things. So what big deal there books, that are now are made into movies. Personally i like Meyer better, and i do know why because when she writes its like i feel the emotions of what the characters feel, now thats a darn good book!!

wow, honestly there are some very immature people out there. Saying that Stephen King, THE Stephen King is jealous of another writer!?! I hardly think so. Before people start bashing authors I think they should READ THEIR BOOKS first.
But this is a purely subjective topic and shouldn't be commented on (I'm not commenting on the article I'm commenting on you guys) because of how emotionally attached people can become to these books, not just Stephanie Meyer's but Stephen King's as well. Personally I love King's works more, simply because they are amazingly written and have original ideas. Meyer's work isn't that original idea wise, but I liked the imagery and I'm a vampire fan so what can i say?
In the end King is bang on right about Stephanie's books, but some people need that type of safety net to get used to the feelings they aren't ready to deal with.

I'm not one of the little teeny girls bashing on King for bashing on Steph but I've got to say something to rebutt this. He is jealous because his books suck. I have never ever had any desire to read his books or watch any of the movies made about him. His books suck A–!

You've obviously been living under a rock if you think that nobody loves Stephen King's books. If nobody loves his books, they he wouldn't have over 350 million of them in print and he never would have had so many of them adapted into movies. That just goes to show that your an idiot! Stephen King is an amazing writer. And yes, I read Stephenie Meyer too so don't think that I'm bashing her when I say this: Although Stephenie tells a great story, her writing IS weak. I think the problem here is that nobody wants to realize the truth just cause they're so caught up in Edward Cullen. I've seen plenty of those girls who act like Twilight is their life, as if it was air (without it, they would die), which when you think about it is just sad. So yes, Stephenie Meyer can tell a good story and I enjoyed The Twilight Saga, but technically she is a poor writer. Stephen King is a great storyteller and a great technical writer amongst J.K. Rowling whom he mentioned. People on here just need to stop lashing out at Stephen King for pointing out the obvious. He did not bash her! He was just making a statement–a true one at that.

YEAH RIGHT. Like wow i understand your opinion but keep it to yourself. You may all hate Twilight but keep it to yourselves. Stephenie has feeling also and it probably hurts just as much as it would hurt you so just back off and in my opinion the series are amazing. I've never read a better book in my life.

okay, people comment here to share their opinions. you don't have to like what we think, but you not liking them is not going to change what we think. now, twilight was sm's first book. & it SHOWS. & with all the attention that it's gaining, i think someone did have to point out that it's not because of sm's great writing but because of how easy it is to pretend that the hot edward/jacob is their own. stephen king told the truth, but i also think that he could have said it in a better way, but like i said, he was simply stating the truth, & someone has to get that message to her, so that she can work on her writing & IMPROVE. extreme twilight fans hate all of our negative comments, but sometimes meyer needs to see them, to see where she can improve on.

what I think it is, and i migt be putting my drunken foot in my mouth when i say this, but I think that Stefanie Meyer doesn’t know how to write, but to sell. She knew how to sell her books, and she knows how to play with people. It’s how so many people love the books, she got ‘em played lik a card. For those who say Stephen King Sucks, you are extremely. The Shining, The mist, And so many other books were turned into movies because they are that good. And if she is that good, then wher are her awards? IF this is a good book, where is her Pulitzer pirze, her National Book award, why hasn’t the Chicago Tribune Given her the Hartland Prize? Simple. Because she is a horrible writer, but she knows how much stupid tennage girls would salivate over a vampire raping a stupid, bland girl, and she calls it love. Pathetic.
