Your bailout money at work: Citigroup sues All Citi Pawn

Citigroup, the American banking giant that survives today exclusively off the back of a $36.5 billion cash injection courtesy of the American taxpayer, is using some of those funds on high priced lawyers to sue a small New York pawn shop.

The bank alleges that All Citi Pawn infringes on Citigroup’s trademark by using the word “Citi” and with a logo that includes an arc.

Citigroup is seeking all of the business’ profits since it adopted the All Citi Pawn name.

Pawn shop manager Bob Kay told CNN: “What can I tell you? Its crazy. They’re going wild for a little art that I put up. Theirs is a moon shape, mine is a V-shape, but I’ve already taken it down.”

Your tax payer dollars at work America: thousand dollar an hour lawyers trying to put small businesses out of business. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, doesn’t it ;-)

  2. Josh, thanks for the Google Map link. It looks so much like Citibank logo. Citi is trying to protect the tax dollars, they are not going after a business. If you want to talk about driving small business out of business, talk about Walmart.

It's an obvious ripoff of Citi's logo, protecting their trademark is what a company is supposed to do.

Tax dollars or not is irrelevant.

Glad DD brought up Wal-mart. God forbid the people who have low-paying jobs (or no jobs at all) be able to go buy affordable food and other goods at the expense of a mom and pop. Two people better off? Or a community? Bitch and moan all you want about the “homogenization of America” or whatever other BS it is you leftests spout off about, but they've made a lot of people's lives a lot better.

Trademark infringement is trademark infringement. PERIOD.
