Johnny Depp Is That Really You? Startling Transformation Spotted On Set [Video]
It seems Johnny Depp has undergone an incredible transformation while filming his upcoming movie Yoga Hosers. Instead of the normal suave and tastily handsome Academy Award-nominated Johnny we all know and love, this scruffy individual, with a goatee, a (hopefully) prosthetic nose, plumper bod, and bushy eyebrows was captured on the set.
Don’t panic ladies — it’s just makeup. Underneath that scruffy exterior, our hero still exists. The 51-year-old star of the popular Pirates of the Caribbean movies is currently filming Yoga Hosers, in which he will be sharing the limelight with his own 15-year-old daughter, Lily-Rose Depp.
Directed by Kevin Smith, the film will feature Depp in the part of a a scruffier, older gent, carrying possibly a bit more weight than normal. The movie is to be a comedy, and will be the second in the trilogy of “True North” movies about Canadian culture and myths, the first being the 2014 horror movie Tusk.
In Yoga Hosers, Depp will be reprising the role of Guy Lapointe. Besides his daughter, the cast will include Haley Joel Osment, Justin Long, and another father-daughter combo, Kevin Smith with Harley Quinn Smith.
The movie tells the tale of two 15-year-old lovers of the art of yoga, namely Lily-Rose as Colleen Collette and Harley Quinn in the role of Colleen McKenzie. Both girls have an after school job at a local convenience store called, in true Canadian form, “Eh-2-Zed.”
According to E! Online, it seems an ancient evil will “arise from beneath Canada’s crust” to threaten the girls’ invitation to a Grade 12 party, so they join forces with that legendary man-hunter, Guy Lapointe (played by Depp), in a fight for their lives “with all seven Chakras, one Warrior Pose at a time.”
Apparently Johnny Depp’s fiancée, Amber Heard, hasn’t been spotted on set as yet, which continues current speculation of a possible breakup. There was mention on Inquisitr recently that rumors were rife of a breakup, but that other rumors mentioned the possibility of a reconciliation. In fact, it was thought the famous couple might even set a wedding date for New Year’s Eve. Of course, it is always hard to keep a relationship going successfully in an environment of constant limelight and rumors.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the entire cast of Tusk will be involved in the new film, which means that besides those mentioned above, we will get to see Ralph Garman, Harley Morenstein, Michael Parks, and Genesis Rodriguez. New additions to the trilogy of films will include Adam Brody, Austin Butler, Tony Hale, Natasha Lyonne, Jason Mewes, and Tyler Posey. Of interest is the fact that comic book writer Stan Lee will make a cameo in the film.
In the meantime, we have to get used to the idea of seeing our hero Johnny Depp in the role of an aging and scruffy man-hunter, but the movie should be a blast, “eh?”
