New Year’s Day offers a full 10-game slate of Barclays Premier League action, and fans can watch streaming video of the featured match, Tottenham Hotspur vs. Chelsea, live online to see if the Blues can hold on to their spot at the top of the Premier League table or if the resurgent Spurs — sitting on 31 points in seventh place — can take another step toward securing a Champions League spot.

While the White Hart Lane showdown between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea kicks off at 12:30 pm U.S. Eastern Time, the day’s other crucial game has fifth-place Arsenal traveling to fourth place Southampton at 10 am EST.
Chelsea has suffered just a single League defeat this season, a shock 2-1 loss to struggling Newcastle away at St. James Park on December 6. The lone loss came just three days after Chelsea dispatched Spurs with a mid-week 3-0 shellacking at Stamford Bridge.
Tottenham has been a different side since then, however, and brings a five-match unbeaten streak in all competitions into the first contest of 2015. Last Sunday, Spurs hosted a third place Manchester United, who are looking closer to the Man United of old under first-year manager Louis Van Gaal. Tottenham held the visitors to a 0-0 stalemate with a spirited performance.
But Spurs have not beaten Chelsea in the club’s last 10 tries. In an effort to break that curse, Manager Mauricio Pochettino is expected to make several changes from the lineup that stymied Manchester United, possibly bringing a burst of pace to the lineup with the reintroduction of Aaron Lennon, Kyle Walker, Erik Lamela and Danny Rose.
On the Chelsea side, Manager Jose Mourinho is likely to stay the course, though Oscar and Cesar Azpilicueta may return to the starting XI. But with nothing new on the injury books, and his team having won five straight before drawing with Southampton 1-1 on Sunday, Mourinho has no compelling need to shake up his lineup in any serious way.
