Christian Bale sounds like he was having a “rough day” (understatement of the century) on the set of Terminator Salvation, where someone was smart enough to leak this audio for our enjoyment. It’s super NSFW and is basically littered with F-Bombs, but that’s half the fun. Bale is heard chewing out the Director of Photography for walking into a scene while filming, and according to TMZ, the tape was submitted to an insurance company just in case Bale left after the ordeal.
Do you think this video’s an embarrassment to Bale, or does he have a point?

He had a point, by the sounds of it the DP had walked into his line of sight on more than one occasion. That shouldn't be, clearly Bale knows what to expect, he's done how many great movies? The Dark Knight, The Machinist, Batman Begins, American Psycho, The Prestige, etc.

Without having been physically present to witness the events that led up to this, or even hear the dialogue of all present, it is not fair to judge. This is just an audio clip, we have no idea what happened… and who gives a crap anyway- there are far more pressing issues in the world.

Yeah, he definitely went overboard. What a temper tantrum. There is no reason to talk to any human being that way. We have no idea what was happening, maybe the guy had been screwing up. However, I think it is ironic that Bale is calling this guy an amateur when Bale is yelling like that! HE could be just as effective calmly telling the guy to leave and not return…wow.

He definitely has a point and is totally justified in freaking out. I hope it wakes everyone up to how annoying it is to be distracted when you are in the zone. If you are an artist, craftsman, programmer, sportsman, or in any way someone who has to immerse themselves to do their thing – then you know how it is in that state, the rest of the world drifts away and you lose sense of time, and you are just right in there – at one with it. I'm sure the DOP understands this too, and I'm surprised it was him and not some idiot producer waltzing in to the set chatting to some luvvie on his cellphone who made the distraction. People need to get it into their heads, that some people need to concentrate. Whats more, you can't expect people to be in a normal rational state of mind when they are in the zone – that's the whole point – so they definitely wont be when you prematurely bring them out of it.

Oh my God! Talk about going on and on. He sounds like such an awful person. Arrogant, obnoxious, an idiot, a diva…and unhappy. It just proves to me that you can have an outwardly blessed and successful life but still be really sad. Never had an opinion on the guy before but now whenever I see him, I'll think of this…

I think Christian Bale is awesome!!! Not only is he a talented actor with a ridiculous range but he clearly stands up for himself and his craft and demands the respect he deserves. The DP had done this more than once and clearly showed that he no respect for the actors or the making of the film. And while his tirade did go on a little long, it was obvious Bale was trying to make a point and example out of this guy. A WARNING TO ALL THOSE TREAD DOWN THE PATH OF AMATEURS!!!!

yeaaa so. I get why he was mad. I mean. Acting is his profession and he oviously takes it seriously and wants the best results which can't happen with people being careless like that. I mean doing all that while he's shooting a scene is really unprofessional and ridiculous but at the same time he probably shouldn't have blown up that badly about it. I don't think it's the actor's responsibility to have to correct someone for doing something like that.

He was being a Jerk. You don't freak out on someone like that and try to get them fired! Tell them calmly or tell someone else to tell them to stop you don't pull that crap! I will never again look at him the same. in fact, I will never again watch a movie he is in. This world could do without A**holes like Christian.
