Chris Rock Dating Rosario Dawson? Chris Reportedly ‘Wants To Go Public’

Chris Rock is reportedly dating actress Rosario Dawson.

Media Takeout reported on Monday that the Top Five actor/director and his co-star have been seeing each other for quite some time now.

According to the report, an inside source claims that the two longtime friends did not want their relationship to be leaked out to the public since Chris Rock was still married to his wife of 19 years at the time.

“They got together while making ‘Top 5’… but kept it quiet. Now I think Chris filed the papers on Malaak because he wants to go public with it.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Chris Rock recently filed for divorce from his wife, Malaak Compton-Rock. During their 19 years of marriage, the two now-estranged spouses helped raise two daughters together – Lola Simone, 12, and Zahra Savannah, 10.

Media Takeout claims that Chris Rock did not publicly reveal his alleged relationship with Rosario Dawson when it first began because of the way that the public would have viewed Dawson at that time.

“They didn’t want to announce it while their movie Top 5 was still being released – cause they didn’t want people thinking that Rosario is some type of homewrecker. She’s not, Chris hasn’t been with his wife in about two years.”

The Daily Mail reported earlier this month that Chris Rock and Rosario Dawson appeared very close at a New York after-party for the Top Five film premiere. The 49-year-old comedian kept the 35-year-old actress laughing throughout the night, and they were even photographed sharing a kiss as well.

When discussing the film in an interview with the New York Daily News, Rosario Dawson explained her initial reluctance when it came to deciding to take the role in the first place. Chris Rock jokingly complained that he had to meet with Rosario nine times before she agreed to it. Rosario then delivered her own quip.

“[Chris] said, ‘I did this movie so I could kiss Rosario Dawson.'”

The Sin City actress then offered a more serious response that focused on her hesitance when it came to leaving her comfort zone for the role.

“There was me coming off doing a lot of different projects after my grandmother passed and just feeling incredibly burnt out. I was nervous about jumping on to something that was so out of my comfort zone in so many ways.”

In the same interview, Rosario Dawson later admitted that she was glad that her friend, Chris Rock, convinced her to do it.
