I wish our public officials would spend more time working together to get this country financially back on track rather than insulting one another over things that are unimportant. Frankly, I could care less about the size of Michelle Obama's rear or that this Sensenbrenner doesn't like it, but what I do care about is the fact that my pay raises are not keeping up with inflation–it's like a slow death for the middle class. I want to know my pay raises will exceed the inflation percentage, good healthcare will always be something I can afford, and when I purchase a home, it will be worth more in the future–not less. I want to be able to trust in the future of my country, rather than waiting for the right moment to withdraw much like one would with the stock market. Unfortunately, Democrats and Republicans need to take an approach that fits the times. I'm sure both sides have some good ideas that they can contribute to create a successful plan to improve our country's financial position, but to do this, they need to work for the betterment of the group rather than advocate this survival of the fittest approach. The Republicans need to loosen the reins a bit by considering some of the innovative democratic ideas while the Democrats need to realize that innovation does not mean lack of structure. If these two parties do not find a way to integrate their approaches, they will tear everything apart, and no one will win. The truth is everyone depends on everyone else, and we have to make peace with our NON-omnipotence before we can thrive again.

Our government is not bad; it's just reluctant–like a new college student who has been spoiled by his parents and rebels when he has to get a part-time job, save money, and clean his room. We have ridden on the coattails of our founding fathers allowing them to keep things organized for and support us, but as our country grows and changes, our needs are different. When our country was young, it needed to be cared for by systems that were set up to provide, but now our country needs systems that encourage independence. However, this is not the type of independence that makes every man act for himself. On the contrary, our country needs systems that teach independence for the sake of the group. In learning do our own work, we will be taking the burden off of one another. Much like in one's family, there are sons and daughters who want more adventure and others who are satisfied with a simpler lifestyle. But one does not have to take from the other in order to get what one wants. It would not be socially acceptable for a brother who seeks wealth to take from his brother who seeks simplicity; nor would it be acceptable for the brother who seeks simplicity to burden his brother who seeks wealth. This is not acceptable family practice, and what's more American than the desire to nurture family? The one who seeks wealth should find it outside of the home, and the one who seeks simplicity should find it within himself. And then, there's the middle child–the middle class, who wants to work within the household yet requires the household to provide it's work. We simply ask for something to do, where we get an honest day's pay for an honest day's work. Big brother–go out and be successful, so that we may properly tend to the affairs on the homefront, and little brother, don't give up on yourself because you're giving up on the family. Stand up please–there are ways to be educated, and there is a much better life calling your name. And middle brothers everywhere–if you want to experience a better lifestyle, then go out into the world and find it; otherwise, enjoy the work that you have the ability to do, and know that you cannot maintain the entire household nor should you have to.

Michelle Obama looks great all around. She's known for promoting fitness (gotta see the pictures of her jumping tires at football camp?). Can you say virtuous mom/wife, societal femme fatale (who looks great casual to couture) and then strength training? She accomplishes a lot in her life as The First Lady. And by the way, Mrs. Obama does seem to practice what she also enlightens others about regarding best practices for eating healthy. Maybe Sensebrenner might want to visit the gardens at The White House next spring and focus on what he should have from the beginning, himself.
