Tim Burton And Helena Bonham Carter Secretly Split A Year Ago, Source Says

A few days ago, the Inquisitr reported that Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter amicably ended their 13-year relationship. The split rocked the Twitter world, and fans were genuinely sad about the news.

Sources told the New York Post, however, that the two have been separated for more than a year already, and each have found new partners.

Tim and Helena were never married. Last year, there were rumors of their split when Burton was seen embracing and kissing an unknown blonde. At that time, the director’s rep denied that Burton was with another woman, and said that he was out with a group of friends.

Although the official confirmation of their split was made just last week, the source says that Tim and Helena have been separated for longer.

“Tim and Helena have been living separate lives for more than a year, and since they separated, they have both had other lovers. The separation announcement was made saying they’d split earlier this year, but they have been living apart for much longer.”

There are rumors that Helena is not taking the split very well, but the source said Tim and Helena are happy about their present situation, and that the split was “perfectly amicable.”

When Helena Bonham Carter’s rep released a statement of her separation with Tim Burton, it stated that they still continue to be friends and will be co-parenting son Billy Raymond, 11, and daughter Nell, 6.

It seems that the ex-couple are doing their best to be there for their children, as they were seen with their son and daughter on Friday strolling around north London. The family of four was accompanied by a friend, and they grabbed lunch at a restaurant before walking home. According to the Daily Mail, the four were also together a day before on Christmas morning.

Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter met on the set of Planet of the Apes in 2001, where Burton was the director. Helena then went on to star in a number of Burton’s films, including Sweeney Todd, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Dark Shadows, and Alice in Wonderland. She is also set to reprise her role as the Red Queen in the sequel to Alice in Wonderland, entitled Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass.
