Hayden Panettiere Childbirth: ‘Please Tell Me This Is Temporary’
Actress Hayden Panettiere has opened up about her pregnancy, childbirth, and her current physical condition.
In a recent interview with People, the 25-year-old Nashville actress did not bite her tongue when explaining the aftermath of giving birth to her firstborn child, Kaya Evdokia.

Hayden Panettiere admits in the interview that parenting so far has been a surreal, out-of-body experience for herself and her fiancé, 38-year-old heavyweight pro boxer Wladimir Klitschko.
“You’re suddenly looking at this little thing like, ‘Oh, that was you in my belly this whole time.’ [We’re] just getting to know her.”
Even though she has enjoyed the surreal experience of parenting and coming to grips with the fact that she is a mother now, Hayden Panettiere is also dealing with the challenges of recovering from the birth of her first child physically.
Kaya Evdokia weighed 7 lbs, 14 ounces when she was born, with a height of 20 inches.
Keep in mind that Hayden is only 5’2? and weighed 117 lbs before she became pregnant and gained 40 pounds. The Boston Herald also reports that Hayden Panettiere was more than one week late when she went into labor.
“I’m limping around. I’m still trying to figure out what [pregnancy] has done to my body, how it’s changed it. What’s temporary and what’s permanent.”
Panettiere was able to fully explain her painful experience by using an elderly woman as an illustration.
“I feel like an 80-year-old woman trying to go down the stairs, you know, please tell me this is temporary. But I know some things will never be the same again.”
Panettiere also gave credit to the mother of her fiancé for helping her to finally have a full night of uninterrupted sleep.
“Wlad’s mom was desperate to take the baby for a night. She looks like she didn’t get much sleep, but I feel well-rested!”
However, Hayden’s daughter has been an easy baby to deal with overall — with the exception of the restless nights and her insatiable appetite.

Panettiere told People that Kaya is really sweet and she is sure “that’s the way it’s meant to be.”
