Kailyn Lowry Influencing 2015 Baby Name Trends
Kailyn Lowry inspires her fans in a lot of ways, but now she may be inspiring parents with their choice of baby names. The Teen Mom 2 star gave birth to baby Lincoln Marshall in November 2013, but the Stir points out that her baby name choice will be huge in influencing trends for 2015.
The name Lincoln has actually been gaining in baby name popularity for quite some time. In fact, in 2013, when baby Marroquin was born, the name was ranked at 95 on the Social Security Administration list. Of course, while Kailyn can’t take all the credit for the rise in popularity of the name, there is no doubt she influenced some fans. In fact, she isn’t the first Teen Mom to influence baby names.
When Maci Bookout appeared on 16 and Pregnant, the unusual name that she chose for her son, Bentley, was ranked at 939. After her appearance, the name rose in popularity nearly 400 spots to number 514. With the rise of popularity of Teen Mom came the rise in popularity of the name Bentley. It reached its peak in 2011 and 2012, ranking at number 75. Again, Maci Bookout may not be the sole reason the name Bentley became popular, but there is no doubt she played a role.
Kailyn Lowry has never announced a baby name prior to birth, but that may be because she never finds out the gender of her baby. She opted not to find out the gender of her baby on 16 and Pregnant and, with Lincoln, she also waited until his birth. The name means “town by the pool,” according to NameBerry, and is also the last name of Abraham Lincoln. Kailyn isn’t the only celebrity to opt for the old-fashioned sounding name, though.
Kristen Bell recently gave birth to a daughter, but she didn’t name her Lincoln. Rather, she chose the name Lincoln for her 1-year-old daughter, which is interesting. It seems that both she and Kailyn chose the name around the same time, so there is obviously something bigger than Hollywood influencing this unique baby name.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Kailyn Lowry is starting a business empire, which includes book writing and now a clothing line. It is easy to see why she is an inspiration on many different fronts, and it seems that she can add baby name influencer to her long list of endeavors.
