Cristiano Ronaldo Statue Unveiled, And You’ll Be Surprised At How Anatomically Correct It Is

Cristiano Ronaldo has unveiled a statue of himself in his hometown of Funchal, Portugal, and those in attendance were surprised at how anatomically correct it was.

The statue’s bulge is surprisingly prominent. In fact, it is so obvious you can only assume that Cristiano Ronaldo himself must have been involved in its creation.

You can check out a clearer picture of Ronaldo and his statue below.

The inhabitants of Funchal, which is situated on the island of Madeira, decided to honor their most famous son with this sculpture. And obviously, Ronaldo was more than willing to be lauded in this manner.

Cristiano Ronaldo also made sure that he was in attendance at the unveiling of the statue. He travelled all the way back to his home town and even posed in front of the piece with various members of his family. The Portuguese soccer icon is by far the most prominent personality to have emerged from Madeira, which is located around 250 miles away from Tenerife. It has a population of around 267,000 people.

There is already a museum dedicated to Cristiano Ronaldo located on the island, and this life-size replica of the former Manchester United and Sporting Lisbon forward perfectly compliments that building.

A large crowd of people gathered from across the island to see their local hero unveil the statue, which is based on the stance that he takes before he strikes a free-kick.

Ronaldo made the journey to Madeira on Sunday morning, after playing in Real Madrid’s 2-0 victory over San Lorenzo in the FIFA Club World Cup Final the day before. Surprisingly, Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t add to his impressive goal-scoring haul of 2014 in the match that took place in Morocco.

Sergio Ramos powered home a header for the opening goal, before Gareth Bale confirmed victory for the reigning Champions League winners in the second half. Real Madrid have now won 22 games in a row, and they are just three games away from breaking the world record streak for soccer victories.

This was their fourth trophy of 2014. They previously claimed the Champions League, Copa del Rey, and the European Super Cup.
