Kevin Hart Moves On From Sony With ‘Get Hard’ Trailer

Kevin Hart has a new movie out and, fortunately for the actor, it’s not a Sony title. The trailer for his new movie Get Hard, starring Will Ferrell, dropped today. In the film Will Ferrell plays James, a man who has an impending prison sentence and has 30 days to prepare before he goes into the slammer.

In order to do that he enlists in someone who he thinks is qualified to teach him a thing or two — and that’s Kevin Hart’s Darnell. Ensue the comedic hijinks by an unlikely pair.

Hart is probably relieved to get away from Sony Pictures and that this film is dropping relatively soon. Hart has had quite the week as his film’s junket Wedding Ringer was postponed due to e-mails that were leaked between Sony executives discussing Hart’s demands.

As the Inquisitr reported, Sony Screen Gems’ president Clint Culpepper called Hart a whore due to the comedian wanting a paycheck for social media promotion for his film Think Like a Man Too.

At the time, Culpepper wrote, “I’m tempted to suggest we call his bluff. If he doesn’t do his normal routine, his film will not open as well and his brand will appear diminished and he will — in fact — be f***ing himself because we have his next 2 immediate films. I’m not saying he’s a whore, but he’s a whore.”

Hart sounded off on the leaked email with an Instagram post of his notepad, which read, “Knowing your self worth is extremely important people … I worked very hard to get where I am today. I look at myself as a brand and because of that I will never allow myself to be taking advantage of. [sic]”

He continued, “I OWN MY BRAND … I MAKE SMART DECISIONS FOR MY BRAND … which is why I’m able to brush ignorance off of my shoulder and continue to move forward. I refuse to be broken people … with that being said it’s now time for me to get back to building this empire that I’ve always dreamed of!!!”

After it was announced that Sony Pictures had postponed Hart’s junket and a sit down with the comedian, they said the junket for Wedding Ringer will take place on January 4 and 5 instead.
