Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson Reveal ‘Gay’ Crushes: One Resembles Another One Direction Member

Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik have revealed their “gay” crushes. As it turns out, Niall and Louis have the same type when it comes to guys.

According to Metro, the London Lesbian and Gay Switchboard recently asked three members of One Direction who their biggest man crushes are. The aim of getting the guys to answer the crush question was to draw attention to the Switchboard’s good work and to help closeted gay men who are afraid to come out. By revealing their gay crushes, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik were trying to show those struggling with their sexuality that there’s nothing wrong with being attracted to the same sex.

Larry Stylinson fans will be disappointed to learn that Harry Styles isn’t Louis Tomlinson’s type, but one of his crushes does share Harry’s love of boots and skinny jeans.

“David Beckham is just a cool, cool guy but I saw Russell Brand on Jonathan Ross and he just speaks so incredibly. I look up to him, he’s cool.”

Niall Horan’s crush is also a dark-haired man who isn’t afraid to rock guyliner and scarves.

“Johnny Depp is pretty sick and he’s a really nice fella too.”

It’s kind of surprising that Niall’s crush isn’t Barack Obama. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Horan is so enamored with the President of the United States that he has a wax Obama figure sitting in his garden.

Niall Horan’s man crush happens to look an awful lot like band mate Zayn Malik. One Direction hairstylist Lou Teasdale has noticed the resemblance, and she recently used it for hair inspiration. According to Buzzfeed, the internet completely freaked out when Zayn attended the American Music Awards rocking the same hairstyle that Johnny Depp sports in the movie Cry Baby.

According to the Mirror, Malik shares Niall Horan’s love of Johnny Depp. One Direction was presented with the opportunity to hang out with the Pirates of the Caribbean actor back in 2012, and poor Zayn was so starstruck that he backed out of the meeting.

“I am a massive, massive fan and I didn’t want to embarrass myself so I let the boys go without me. Hopefully, there will be a next time. The boys said he was totally cool. I kind of regret it for sure and the lads said I was a scaredy cat.”

Zayn Malik might admire Johnny Depp just as much as Niall Horan, but the star isn’t his favorite actor — he prefers Jake Gyllenhaal’s baby blues. Unfortunately, Zayn sort of ruined the London Lesbian and Gay Switchboard’s plan to promote acceptance of gay crushes by refusing to label Jake his man crush.

“I wouldn’t necessarily say I have a crush on him, but I really appreciate Jake Gyllenhaal’s acting. I’ve seen him in a film called ‘Prisoners.’ He’s so sick.”

Zayn made up for not having a man crush by sharing some advice for members of the LGBT community who haven’t come out yet.

“Just be yourself. If that’s who you are, that’s who you are and don’t be afraid to be the person that you are.”

There’s no explanation for why Harry Styles and Liam Payne didn’t talk to the London Lesbian and Gay Switchboard about their gay crushes, but Harry showed his support for the organization earlier this year by recording the birthday message below.
