WWE News: Very Latest On The Undertaker Wrestling At WrestleMania 31

The Undertaker will be in the hearts and minds of the WWE Universe forever. He’s one of those professional wrestlers who are more than just a wrestler. His gimmick became a way of life for those who view wrestling as real life. It isn’t as crazy as the average person might think. The Deadman went an unprecedented 21-0 at WrestleMania until last year, when Brock Lesnar finally conquered the greatest streak in all of professional sports.

Everybody in the Superdome had eyes wide as a tunnel and their jaws permanently locked in the dropped position. Along with CM Punk’s shocking victory at Money in the Bank 2011 and Edge’s retirement ceremony on Raw, it will be a moment that will not be forgotten.

Now, each year around this time, rumors begin to swirl about the Undertaker wrestling at WrestleMania. This year, it’s different because Taker doesn’t have his streak to defend. Last week, the Inquisitrreported that the WWE wanted the Undertaker to wrestle Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 31. To update you on the situation, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has the latest on if Taker will compete at Mania and the details behind his contract.

The company wants Wyatt to be viewed as strong when he takes on the Phenom, who’s current record at the event is 21-1.

WWE believes that if ‘Taker should be ready to compete on March 29, he will face Wyatt in what should be a big match for the young, self-proclaimed “Eater of Worlds.” If The Undertaker, real name Mark Calaway, decides he doesn’t want to compete, WWE still wants him to appear on the show. Calaway is reportedly making $1 million a year, and the company wants him to still be a major part of their annualWrestleMania event.

If the Undertaker doesn’t wrestle this year, what will he do at WrestleMania? His gimmick is based on wrestling at the biggest event of the year, and if he cannot do that, would that spoil his presence at all? Just like Brock Lesnar, Sting, and Vince McMahon, Undertaker is a special attraction. Having him there would leave fans teased, potentially.

When Undertaker gets talked about, then so does Sting. He recently debuted with the WWE at the Survivor Series pay-per-view. The “Vigilante” stormed the ring and ruined Triple H’s chances at having the Authority be victorious over Team Cena. Since that point, Sting is rumored to be in a WrestleMania match with Triple H and not the Undertaker.

Having Bray Wyatt go over at Mania would make perfect sense, but would WWE want him to lose two years in a row? The only plausible situation would be to have Taker lose and Sting win. Undertaker would come out on Raw the next night and announce he can’t go anymore. Sting would appear and say that he needs to wrestle him at next year’s WrestleMania 32 in Dallas, Texas. If the WWE does that, that would be best for business.
