Joan Collins Stopped By Border Patrol: Actress Opens Up About Airport Scare

Joan Collins was stopped by the border patrol, and the actress has now shared publicly about the incident that made her feel “like a criminal.” According to OK! Magazine, the actress shared about the experience in vivid detail.

Joan Collins was stopped by U.S. border patrol after her fingerprints did not scan at the airport after a flight from London. She revealed that the heavy amount of moisturizing lotion she uses caused problems with the scanner. When her fingerprints did not scan, she was pulled aside for questioning by a border patrol agent. The actress shared about the entire incident in a post for The Spectator last month, according to The Telegraph.

“My immigration form came out of the printer with a large and very ominous X on it. This alarmed the official, who decided to leave me standing next to his desk while he waved forward and collected the forms of those whose fingerprints had made the grade. After an interminable parade of obvious stares and hidden snickers form the successful entrants, he made me take off my hat and glasses and peered at me.”

Collins then revealed that the border patrol cross-examined her. He asked her a number of questions about her identity and her reasons for coming to the United States. Collins made it clear that she did not enjoy the interrogation, and it was the last thing she expected at the end of a 10-hour flight. Her quest for good skin caused the incident. At 81-years-old, this actress is one of the most recognized faces in the world.

Last month, the actress made news when she shared openly about her rape and later marrying the man that raped her back in 1950. The Inquisitr reported that Collins shared her story in Brave Miss World. It was not the first time the actress had spoken publicly about being raped. She spoke about it fully in her memoir titled The World According To Joan.

Collins revealed that Maxwell Reed raped her at the age of 17. She later married the man, but their marriage only lasted four years. The couple divorced in 1956.

According to Mail Online, Joan Collins appeared on British television news program, This Morning, earlier this week, and she spoke out again about the rape, and she gave advice to other rape victims.

“Women are frightened to come out and admit it has happened to them. At 17, I felt so guilty and so responsible. I thought this was my fault and that I should never have gone with this man. You just feel so alone. You feel like you’re the only one this is happening to. I had total guilt and couldn’t tell any of my friends or my parents. It could have wrecked my life if I had become pregnant, I would not have had a career, I wouldn’t have gone to Hollywood. Go to the police, go to your social worker, or if you are abused in your home, go to a refuge.”

It is clear that this actress is not afraid to share about her life, and she is now using her fame and her voice to help others. What do you think of Joan Collins being stopped by the border patrol? Are you surprised she was treated in such a manner?
