WWE News: Huge Indy Tag Team Offered A WWE Try-Out, But Turned It Down

Every major pro-wrestler has been with WWE. That is now a fact, after WWE signed Sting to a performance deal recently. However, some guys feel they do not need to be part of the company, at least yet. Indy tag team The Young Bucks recently were offered a chance to go down to the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. WWE wanted to give them a try-out.

It is a huge honor for possibly the hottest Indy tag team in the world today. The Young Bucks are currently signed with NJPW and ROH. However, they have been with TNA Wrestling and PWG. Everywhere they have gone, they have seemingly won gold. Many relate them to the Hardy Boyz, Matt and Jeff Hardy. It is a huge deal to be compared to one of the top tag teams ever, but the Bucks do not seem to be against it.

The Bucks actually declined the offer back in September, politely of course, according to the Wrestling Observer. WWE agent and trainer Joey Mercury noted that a few of his friends, top Indy stars, turned down WWE offers. According to the Observer, it was the Bucks he was referring to.

This was not their first run-in with WWE. The brothers actually worked a try-out match years back with WWE. However, they seemed to rub Booker T the wrong way. Apparently both guys were walking to the back and didn’t bother to shake anyone’s hand, especially Booker. Booker didn’t take this very well and brought it up to management.

That one moment potentially cost them their opportunity to work with WWE at the time. Obviously both men got past it, and they both love what they are doing now.

Matt and Nick Jackson just love wrestling, and Matt actually noted to me that he didn’t even keep up with mainstream wrestling much, if at all. They really just love wrestling, but with the rise of WWE NXT with tons of great Indy performers, one would imagine that the Bucks will eventually find themselves in WWE.

While it could always be in the future, we can assume that if they remain happy on the Independent Circuit, they will not even consider WWE. Although, New Japan Pro-Wrestling is far from an Indy place to most. At the end of the day, we’re going to hear a lot about them. Both are still under 30, which means we have plenty of time to see them in WWE.
