Luggage Returned 20 Years TSA: Lost Luggage Returned To Woman After 20 Years

Luggage was returned 20 years later by TSA to a woman in Arizona, according to People Magazine. Maria Dellos said that an airline lost her luggage two decades ago, and inside was about $600 worth of items that she got from a trade show in Las Vegas (she works as a designer and a teacher, and owns Maria’s Art Creations in Tucson). While the loss may have stung at the time, Dellos moved on.

Interestingly enough, Dellos fell victim to lost luggage again just about four months ago… and when she got a call from TSA, she figured that the luggage they were calling about was the more recent. She was pleasantly surprised, however, and seems to be happy nonetheless.

“This is product, art product, very valuable stuff. I’m absolutely thankful to the TSA for calling me today and giving me great faith back into the airline industry,” she said.

The luggage returned after 20 years wasn’t the only thing TSA had for Dellos. Apparently they also recovered her lost luggage from a few months ago, and she got that back too. According to Texoma’s Fox, Dellos thought that the call was just a telemarketer. She is happy that she decided to pick up the phone — and that she stayed on long enough to hear the good news. Of course, she never expected to hear that her long-lost luggage would be making its way back to her.

“I understand that we just did some shuffling of equipment at the airport, so it’s quite possible that we came across something that somebody left unattended for a long period of time,” said a spokesperson for TSA.

Losing luggage is something that most travelers have experienced from time to time. Sometimes items that have been lost are more precious, like a dog, for example. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Delta Airlines lost a passenger’s pup last month. The dog never made it to Tampa, Florida, and his owner is understandably heartbroken.

“He’s my best friend. He would cheer me up when I was down. He would put his head on my leg or stomach and look at me with his puppy dog eyes,” said the dog’s owner Frank Romano.

It’s unknown if Ty the pit bull has been found, or if Delta has offered Mr. Romano any kind of additional compensation for his loss. The airline did refund the $200 pet transportation fee.
