‘The Bold And The Beautiful’ Update: Maya’s Younger Sister, Nicole, Joins Forrester Drama

In an update on casting for The Bold and the Beautiful, Maya’s younger sister will join the Forrester drama. Maya, who’s always making a play for Rick Forrester, will see her sibling, Nicole Avant, arrive on the scene.

CBS Soaps In Depth reports that the character will be played by 18-year-old Reign Edwards. This will be her first daytime soap. She’s a singer, songwriter, and actress, according to her bio.

In an exclusive interview Edwards gave to Soap Opera Digest, she shares that she was the youngest to audition for the role. Her mother is also a big fan of The Bold and the Beautiful.

“I was the youngest one in the audition. I felt really good about it, but I honestly didn’t expect it. My mom’s a B&B fan, so when she found out, she couldn’t believe it! I think my mom is going to be pretty cool with Nicole — but even if she isn’t, hey, I’m 18 now [laughs].”

The actress thinks the role of Nicole will have a lot to offer other characters on the show.

“I think Nicole is going to bring something pretty cool to the table for everybody. She’s Maya’s little sister, so they’re going to have some similarities but they’ll also have their differences, too. You’ll really get to see that. “

Reign Edwards will make her debut on B&B in January.

As Inquisitr previously reported, another actress will arrive on the scene in January. Jacqueline MacInnes Wood will reprise her role as Steffy Forrester. Steffy returns to L.A. weeks after Hope Logan (formerly played by Kim Matula) left to see her mother Brooke in Italy. The character of Hope will be recast and she’ll be on the canvas as soon as January, as well. So, a lot of casting changes are in store for the popular daytime soap.

In other updates on B&B casting, She Knows lists Zane Achor as coming back as baby Will on December 18 and Othello Clark back as Othello on December 19. It’s also revealed that Big Brother’s Zach Rance will be on another episode of the soap in February.

A number of comings and goings happen on The Bold and the Beautiful. Soap operas tend to have a revolving door of actors and actresses in storylines. There’s even a rumor that the role of Bridget Forrester, played by Ashley Jones, may return to the show. It’s unknown when that will be — if the rumor is true.
