WWE News: Daniel Bryan Returns To WWE, Confronts Rusev

Injured WWE superstar Daniel Bryan made an appearance at WWE’s Tribute to the Troops, and interrupted Lana and Rusev. Bryan has been out of action for nearly eight months now, and is expected to be back in action in about two months. However, Bryan actually teased getting physical with Rusev, but the key is that he didn’t actually get into a physical altercation with the “Bulgarian Brute.”

Lana and Rusev were doing their usual anti-American shtick in front of the crowd at Fort Benning in Columbus, Georgia, when Daniel Bryan’s music hit, which received a thunderous ovation from the military-heavy crowd.

Bryan mentioned that if Rusev wanted to fight, then he wouldn’t be fighting just him. Instead, he would be fighting the whole arena of proud Americans. Bryan explained that a proud American can come over a wall, then two US soldiers jumped the barricade and stood up on the apron. Bryan also explained that a proud American can come from the sky, then, two more US soldiers were lowered from the ceiling to the ground, and joined the other two US soldiers. Bryan then told Rusev that he’s willing to fight him, and he then made his way to the ring. When Bryan reached the ring, Rusev bailed and was booed out of the building.

Could this lead to a feud between Daniel Bryan and Rusev upon Bryan’s return? Sure. But it was most likely a one-off confrontation that was designed to get a big reaction from the crowd at Fort Benning. That doesn’t mean that Bryan and Rusev won’t have a feud at some point in the near or distant future, as it’s likely that they both have plenty of years left in WWE.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, WWE is expecting Daniel Bryan to be back and ready to go in about two months, which means he could be ready in time for WrestleMania 31 in March. Who will his opponent be? Well, that’s dependent on if Bryan is healthy enough to wrestle by the spring. But, WWE could do a Rusev vs. Daniel Bryan match at WrestleMania 31, as there’s no clear opponent for Rusev at the big event now that Kurt Angle has re-signed with TNA.

It’s likely that WWE will be having Daniel Bryan make sporadic appearances at WWE events until he’s ready to wrestle, which could water down his return to in-ring competition, but regardless of that, WWE is chomping at the bit to have Daniel Bryan back as an active member of the WWE roster, as they’re extremely thin on talent right now.
