Willie Robertson Figure Out Being Gay: ‘Duck Dynasty’ Star Wonders If Being Gay Is Just A Choice

Willie Robertson is trying to figure out if being gay is a choice. According to the Huffington Post, the Duck Dynasty star sat down with Larry King for an interview this week, and he decided to address the controversial comments that his father, Phil Robertson, made about gay people last year.

“Some of the things he said in that interview, I didn’t agree with — and I’ve even said so. We love everybody… In this business, there are a lot of people who are gay,” Robertson told King.

Willie Robertson said he wanted to figure out if being gay was a choice that people made, because he wants to be able to formulate his own opinion on people who might think and feel differently than him. Although he previously defended his dad’s comments, Willie says that he is not the judge and that he just wants to introduce people to Jesus.

“I’m trying to figure that out right now, I really am. I’m not the judge. God’s going to be the judge, so it’s not my job to convince people to change their lives… if I just introduce them to Jesus, He’ll do that,” Willie said.

According to E! News, Willie wants people to know that he has made an effort — that he has been getting to know gay people, and that he has accepted and loved them for who they are, not who they choose to love. It appears as though he is starting to see things differently now, long after the gay-controversy surrounding his family has died down.

“We stood by our father. We stood by him as a family again. Some of the things he said in that interview I didn’t agree with and I’ve even said so, and he’s even come out and said, ‘Yeah, that was a mistake.’ With things leading to bestiality, it was a mixed bag there of things. And then he quoted a Scripture, and that’s what’s in the Scripture. What I want people to know and what we’ve said over and over and over is that we love everybody.”

While Willie Robertson tries to figure out if being gay is a choice, he’s not closing the door on people because of their sexual preferences.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, there was some chatter about A&E canceling Duck Dynasty following the controversy, but the network decided to bring the show back for another season. Do you think the network made the right decision? What do you make of Willie’s new interview?
