Barbara Bowman Sounds Off On Camille Cosby’s Supportive Words: He’s ‘Not The Man I Thought I Knew’

One of Bill Cosby’s first accusers, Barbara Bowman, has fired back at Camille Cosby after Mrs. Cosby released a statement insisting her husband Bill is still the man Americans once knew from The Cosby Show.

Barbara Bowman is one of Bill Cosby’s most vocal accusers from the now substantial group of women who insist they were all victims or near victims of sexual assault by Mr. Cosby. Bowman proclaimed that she can’t imagine all of the “torment” and “deep disappointment” the actor’s wife is going through, despite Camille Cosby”s recent statement in support of her husband.

Bowman told Access Hollywood what she thought of Camille Cosby’s statement.

“I can’t imagine the torment, anguish and deep disappointment Camille Cosby must be experiencing now. As she comes to terms with the raw reality of what her husband has caused as her partner of 50 years, she must be shedding tears for her family and for other families across the nation.”

Ms.Bowman continued to contradict Camille’s claim that her husband Bill “is the man you thought you knew.” Barbara Bowman bluntly proclaimed, Cosby “is not the man I thought I knew.”

As the Inquisitr reported, Camille Cosby’s statement reads as follows.

“The man I met, and fell in love with, and whom I continue to love, is the man you all knew through his work. He is a kind man, a generous man, a funny man, and a wonderful husband, father and friend. He is the man you thought you knew. A different man has been portrayed in the media over the last two months. It is the portrait of a man I do not know. It is also a portrait painted by individuals and organizations whom many in the media have given a pass.”

Camille and Bill’s daughter, Evin Cosby, had even more words of support for her beleaguered dad. The 38-year-old issued a statement to Access Hollywood, saying, “He is the FATHER you thought you knew. The Cosby Show was my today’s tv reality show. Thank you. That’s all I would like to say :)”

Prior to speaking with Access Hollywood, Evin made a comment on her Facebook profile about rape allegations without mentioning her father’s name, although she really didn’t have to.

“Rape is a serious allegation and it is suppose to be taken VERY seriously but so is Falsely accusing someone. When someone rapes a person they go to prison. THAT should also happen to the person that has wrongfully accused an innocent victim. They are not ONLY destroying innocent people’s life they are ALSO making it hard for the MEN and Women to find justice when they have been raped.”

Bowman came forward with her story back in November, which started a ripple effect that lead to 22 alleged victims coming forward. Cosby has suffered a blow to his reputation so shocking that even if he somehow avoids criminal charges, his career as one of the world’s most celebrated comedians and television stars may never recover.
