Kate Middleton Shows Prince George Holiday Fun: Duchess Kate Takes Son To Holiday Fair In London

For Kate Middleton, being a member of the royal family doesn’t mean staying away from the joys of everyday life. The Duchess of Cambridge and her husband, Prince William, are known for taking in activities far removed from the public eye, like rushing through a London train station with their dog when returning from a country vacation. The pregnant Kate recently took her 16-month-old son Prince George to a holiday fair in London’s Hyde Park, far away from official dignitaries.

The royals spent some time at London’s Winter Wonderland, even taking a turn on one of the rides. The fair is a short stroll from Kate and William’s apartment at Kensington Palace, so it may have been a spontaneous outing for Middleton to spend some holiday time with her son. A visitor to the fair who saw the royals told People they made little fuss.

“They only had one go on the ride, and then off they went. Kate was so polite and normal looking. I don’t think anyone even noticed that they were there.”

According to the observer, Prince George was having fun.

“George was smiling and laughing as they went ’round and ’round together. He was really enjoying the ride with his mom. You could see it in his little face — he looked so happy.”

The Winter Wonderland is a place for Christmas shopping, food and drink, rides, circus shows, and an ice rink. Many of the larger attractions require tickets although general entrance into the fair is free.

HELLO! magazine also spoke with a visitor who confirmed Kate Middleton was dressed casually, offering no hint of her royal title of Duchess. The young prince was apparently properly outfitted for the weather.

“George was dressed warmly in a snowsuit and Kate was dressed down, wearing a baseball cap. They arrived at 11am and happily mingled with other members of the public.”

The heir to the throne spent ample time at the event, but apparently did not visit with Santa Claus.

“They spent an hour together in Santa Land, enjoying a ride on the teacup ride, and looked like they were having a fantastic time.”

Prince George’s official Christmas photos were released by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge over the weekend. The little prince looks joyful and rosy-cheeked.

Kate Middleton is due to have her second baby in April. Prince George turned one on July 22.
