Jennifer Lopez Tells ‘Self’ She Wants to Be Superwoman

Jennifer Lopez wows on the January cover of Self magazine. The magazine, known for fitness and health, features the 45-year-old Lopez looking better than ever. Within its pages, Lopez reveals her plans for the new year.

Lopez has already accomplished so much, but she’s not done yet. She’s already made a name for herself as a singer, dancer, actress, producer, and fashion designer with a popular line at Kohl’s, but now she wants to add “superwoman” to her resume. The best-selling author, yes, she wrote a book called True Love that hit the New York Times best-seller list back in November, told Self, “I want to prove to everyone that I can do everything and be a superwoman.” And how does she plan to do this?

Well, Lopez is back in the studio working on new music with famed producer Darkchild according to Popdust. Speaking of music, Lopez has confirmed that she will be returning as a judge for Season 14 of American Idol along with Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr. Also, she will be releasing her HBO concert special in January. But wait, that’s not all!

Lopez is also starring in a movie called The Boy Next Door set to be released in late January of 2015. As stated on Eonline, Lopez plays a “married teacher who has an affair with the boy next door.” Oh yeah, and did I mention she was also the executive producer of the movie?

Lopez is also working on other acting ventures for the new year. She will have a guest spot on Parks and Recreation and a starring role on the NBC drama Shades of Blue.

Lopez, who understand the importance of taking care of yourself, wants others to take the time to properly care for themselves. In that vein, she is working with health and fitness company BodyLab to create a whole fitness program “complete with recipes, health tips, smoothies, and calorie and exercise trackers.” Wow. Is there anything Lopez isn’t doing in the new year?

While Lopez is aiming to be “superwoman,” her first job is as mother first as she shared in her Self article, which will be available on newsstands on December 23. The mother of two commented that she is spending the holiday at home with her kids even though she will be working on New Year’s Eve of this year. While she is aiming high, if anyone can be superwoman, I think Jennifer Lopez can do it.
