‘Shadow Of Mordor’ DLC: ‘Lord Of The Hunt’ Adds New Missions, Enemy Types!

New Shadow of Mordor DLC has hit, and this time it’s not free. “Lord of the Hunt” adds new missions and enemy types to the game, and likely more replay value for Middle Earth adventurers who crave a new challenge.

The original game centers on the story of Talion, a Ranger whose family was guarding the Black Gate when they were slaughtered by the Black Hand of Sauron. Talion returns to life with the wraith of a man whose true identity is as mysterious as it is unsettling. Using his newfound “wraith” abilities, Talion takes on the task of reshaping the armies of Middle Earth as he sees fit, and avenging his family.

While the game’s Nemesis system doesn’t give the player much reason to be bored, Warner Bros. has unleashed new Shadow of Mordor DLC which expands on the story. Talion joins Torvin the Dwarven Hunter to face off against new Warchiefs called the Beastmasters, which can now ride mounts while they fight you.

This is made less daunting by the fact that you can now ride the new Wretched Graug, which can spit poison at opponents. You can also use the Caragath to stalk enemies and raise your own Ghul Horde. New Epic Runes are also available to power you up even further.

One of the best action games of 2014 just got better, with all of the gory violence you have come to expect from this title. While some skeptics have been calling it a clever cross between the Batman: Arkham series and Assassin’s Creed, Warner Bros.’ bestselling Lord of the Rings tie-in has enough personality to stand on its own. Whether you’re picking flowers, hunting wildlife, or taking on the brutal politics of the Horde, it’s almost impossible to be bored with Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor.
