Final Fantasy XV Trailer Now Available In English [Video]

It has been nearly 8 years since Final Fantasy XV was originally announced as Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Since the original announcement, fans have anticipated its launch and endured numerous delays and setbacks. When the Japanese trailer was announced, cries of fan boys and girls could be heard across the globe. Cheers of joy were heard once again as the English version of the trailer has made its way into the internet.

There was a time period that fans believed Final Fantasy XV was nothing more than an elaborate attempt at trolling fans, and there was doubt that Square Enix would actually pull it off. A release of the Japanese trailer in September showed a glimpse of the massive world and confirmed the game was still scheduled for launch. According to Gamespot, Tetsuya Nomura diverted his focus to Kingdom Hearts III before returning to Final Fantasy XV. As a reward for waiting patiently, fans that purchase Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, the Day One edition, will receive a free demo of Final Fantasy XV. However, Scott Strichart, marketing director of Square Enix, claims the demo will be in short supply.

“We’re never going to release it as a stand-alone piece down the line. Secondly, it’s intended to be a special gift for those of you who purchase early–the demo will be limited to the ‘Day One’ edition of the game, meaning that only the first shipment is going to have the demo in it.”

Kotaku shared the English version of the trailer, claiming the voices are nothing more than standard “anime” quality voices, but many fans disagree. Take a look at the video below and share your thoughts.

Some fans pointed out references to Final Fantasy VII, a possible reason that Square Enix decided to release the PC version of the game on the PS4. On the car radio, the announcer clearly says “Emperor of Nibelheim.”

You can also hear,

“They are considering opening up negotiations with Prince Garland Leonheart of Zidanea.”

Many fans that commented on the video noticed the connection with Final Fantasy VII and wonder if Final Fantasy XV will finally connect the games officially. One fan, Saitzev, posted on the Kotaku page stating that he believes Final Fantasy XV to take place in the future of Final Fantasy VII, in reference to the Emperor of Nibelheim.

“This is very interesting as this leads me to believe this is a game that takes place long after the event of what transpired in VII”
