Brock Lesnar Returns To WWE, Takes Out Chris Jericho

After being off of WWE television for nearly three months, the current WWE champion, Brock Lesnar, has finally returned to WWE, and in his first night back, he took out Chris Jericho.

Jericho, who was tonight’s guest general manager, made a one-on-one match between himself and Brock Lesnar’s manager Paul Heyman. Before the match, WWE fans had the chance to vote on the match stipulation, and the fans voted for Jericho and Heyman to have a street fight, which, because of Lesnar’s appearance, never happened.

When Jericho made the match between himself and Heyman, it was pretty obvious that Lesnar would return and get involved, as it’s been advertised for several weeks now that Lesnar would be making his return to WWE during tonight’s RAW.

John Cena is still set to take on Seth Rollins in a steel cage match tonight, another match made by Jericho, and Lesnar could, in some way, get involved in that match. There were rumors earlier in the week that current Money in the Bank contract holder Seth Rollins would cash in his contract tonight, and fail. If that’s still the plan, then Lesnar will definitely be getting involved in tonight’s main-event.

Lesnar’s initial appearance where he took out Chris Jericho was very short, so, it’s likely that Lesnar will make another appearance tonight so WWE can get their money’s worth.

Something else that was noteworthy in Lesnar’s appearance is that he didn’t come to the ring with the WWE championship belt. Again, that may be being held off until the main-event segment, where it’s likely that Seth Rollins will cash in his Money in the Bank contract.

WWE announced at last night’s TLC pay-per-view that John Cena will take on Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view in January, which is a match that Brock Lesnar is expected to win, and go on to WrestleMania 31 to take on Roman Reigns, who is the favorite to win the Royal Rumble match.

Lesnar’s return was met with a pretty big ovation, and his face-off with Chris Jericho actually got light “this is awesome” chants. In the showdown between the two, Jericho hit Lesnar in the face with two forearms, which Lesnar didn’t sell at all. Then, Jericho attempted a Code Breaker, but Lesnar just threw Jericho to the ground, then picked Jericho up, and hit him with an F-5.

The showdown between Lesnar and Jericho likely won’t lead to anything, unless Lesnar loses his title to John Cena at the Royal Rumble, then Brock Lesnar vs. Chris Jericho is a possible match for WrestleMania 31.
