[Rumor] Alan Wake spotted in Steam registry, PC release speculation begins

When Alan Wake was originally announced way back in 2005, it was said to be in development for the PC as well as Xbox 360. We didn’t hear anything about said PC release after that until 2010, at which point Remedy said that a PC release was “not in the cards”.

Nearly a year-and-a half later, it looks like Alan Wake could be coming to the PC after all. NeoGAF forum users spotted a listing for Alan Wake in the Steam registry, suggesting that Remedy’s horror title could be coming to PCs at some point.

To add further fuel to the speculation, Remedy themselves slyly suggested in an interview with Finnish website YLEX (translated by Just Push Start) that there could be some news on the way regarding a PC release.

“We have received feedback from a lot of PC gamers, and I have to admit that yes, we somehow ignored that,” Remedy’s Aki Järvilehto told YLEX in an interview. “Let’s see if in the near future we could have some positive news to tell you about dating!”

It’s not a guarantee by any means, but it sounds like something is brewing. We’ll let you know when we hear more.
