Channing Tatum: Sony Leak Reveals Awesome Email From ’22 Jump Street’ Star

Channing Tatum was excited when 22 Jump Street had the second-best opening weekend ever for an R-rated comedy.

Like really, really excited.

The recent leak of Sony emails has uncovered a world of sniping and personal attacks in Hollywood, with executives bad-mouthing stars and gossiping. But as Gawker uncovered, the bright spot may be the childlike enthusiasm of actor Channing Tatum.

After 22 Jump Street had an opening weekend of $57,071,445, knocking Seth MacFarlane’s Ted out of the No. 2 opening weekend all time for R-rated comedies, Tatum wrote an email to his co-star Jonah Hill and Sony Pictures co-chair Amy Pascal, where he could barely contain his enthusiasm.

Channing wrote the following.

F YOU TED!!!! SECOND OF ALLLL TIMMMMME BEEEOTCH!!!! COME ON JUMPSTREETERS WE GOT CATE BLANCHETT WIT DIS BOX OFFICE B*****S!!!!!!!!

Then came the kicker. Channing signed off the email with a chain of HAHAHAHA that lasted close to 15,000 characters. As Gawker pointed out, Tatum “writes email like a dog with a stick wags its tail.”

Channing Tatum could have even more to be happy about in the near future. The leaked emails also revealed that Sony is working on another addition to the Jump Street series that crosses it over into the Men in Black universe. In the third movie, Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill would play MIB agents fighting against aliens.

Not everyone is taking the leak seriously — Perez Hilton labeled the rumor as “ridiculous” — and it would be quite a departure from the previous Men in Black movies.

“The new movie would be directed by ‘Jump Street’ directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller but it would apparently NOT include Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones!
Which seems kind of ridiculous. If you’re gonna have a crossover, do it RIGHT!”

But Jonah Hill appeared to be on board, writing in a leaked email, “[J]ump street merging with mib i think that’s clean and rad and powerful. [sic]”

There was no word how Channing Tatum felt about the new Jump Street sequel idea, but chances are he’d be very enthusiastic.
