Shooting In Portland School, Suspect Arrested

Three students were injured and taken to the hospital as a result of a shooting in Portland yesterday outside of a high school, Fox News reported. Police stopped a vehicle today driven by the alleged suspect in the shooting, a 22-year-old man, who was in possession of a handgun believed to have been used in the shooting. Fox News reported the police searched an apartment located five blocks from Rosemary Anderson High School, outside of which the shooting took place.

As a result of the shooting, one student was critically injured, while two other students were reported to be in fair condition and recovering in the hospital. Fox News cited Portland Police Sgt. Pete Simpson as stating the shooting near the Portland school “appears to be gang-related.”

“There was some kind of dispute between the shooter and some people,” Simpson said. “We don’t know if it was (with) all the victims or one of the victims.”

The Portland Police Gang Enforcement Team arrested the 22-year-old suspect today (December 13) in connection with the shooting.
