Baby Of Houston Mother Discovered Dead In Fridge Found Alive In Mexico

The baby of a Houston mother discovered dead inside a refrigerator has been found alive and safe in Mexico. The 11-month-old infant boy was located on Friday, December 12, 2014 in the central Mexican state of Queretaro; he was reportedly in good health. Four days earlier, his mother’s lifeless body was found inside her apartment. She had been stabbed to death, and her corpse squeezed into a refrigerator inside the home.

Electricity to the Houston apartment was cut off on November 20, 2014 due to nonpayment, reported Yahoo! News. On December 8, 2014, local police responded to a report from Braeswood Oaks Apartments maintenance staff that there was a foul odor emanating from the home. That’s when police made the gruesome discovery of the dead woman in the fridge. Police believe the decaying corpse may have been in the appliance for up to three weeks before being discovered.

The woman discovered dead inside a refrigerator last Monday was identified as 27-year-old Anastacia Oaikhena Lambert, an unemployed woman with no family living in the area. Baby Achilles Lambert was found after Houston police, the FBI, and Harris County’s Special Crimes Division combined their efforts to locate the boy following an Amber Alert issued by officials. Lambert had abandoned the child, according to KHOU.

Patrick Lambert is the father of the baby found in Mexico. He is 38-years-old. Lambert is also the husband of the deceased woman. After the baby’s discovery, Mexican officials took Lambert into custody. He is wanted by Houston police for questioning in the case of the boy’s disappearance and his mother’s death. However, he has not yet been charged with any crimes in connection with the case. When the senior Lambert was taken into custody in Mexico, he was not in the same location where his son was discovered.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, a baby was found dead in a freezer in 2012, and the child’s mother was sentenced to life in prison in 2013 after pleading to the aggravated murder of her baby. The incident took place in Ohio. Kenisha Pruitt allegedly submerged the infant in water, strangled the newborn with a shoelace, wrapped the baby in a towel, and then placed him or her inside the freezer.

Antonio Cervantes, the father of the baby discovered dead in a freezer, was also charged in connection with the newborn’s death. He was charged with involuntary manslaughter, abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence and child endangerment after allegedly witnessing Pruitt hold the baby underwater shortly after birth and giving the new mother a shoelace to tie around the infant’s neck. He also placed the lifeless body inside a plastic bag, according to Pruitt.

Authorities are working to return the baby found in Mexico and the father of the child back to the United States.
