Jessica Chambers Murder: Family Of Woman Burned Alive Speaks Out, New Details Emerge

The family of Jessica Chambers, the woman who was brutally burned alive in Mississippi, is speaking out as new details surface in the case of her horrific murder.

The murder of the 19-year-old woman has riveted the nation, after someone put gasoline down Chambers’ throat and nose and set her on fire. The only part of her body not badly burned were the soles of her feet. She was found, barely alive, wandering a rural road.

Investigators have not announced any arrests in Chambers’ murder. However, surveillance camera footage from the gas station where the young woman was last seen alive revealed she may have been talking to someone just before she was killed.

Ali Fadhel, a clerk at the convenience store/gas station Jessica Chambers frequented, told police the teen was a frequent visitor and they talked to each other often. She always put $5 worth of gas in her car. However, on the date of her murder, she had a $14 tab.

“I asked her, ‘Why are you putting so much gas?’ She said, ‘I’m going somewhere,'” Fadhel said. According to authorities, about half an hour later she was found along a back road with her body almost completely burned. She was barely able to talk, but reports are that she gave police information about her attacker.

The cashier says that Jessica Chambers told him she was going to make a stop before heading home and added that on her way out of the store she got a call on her cell, came back in to purchase cigarettes, and then left heading south.

On Thursday, officials investigating Jessica Chambers’ murder said they do not have any suspects or motive in the brutal killing. The investigation continues and authorities are using DNA recovered from the mangled car, which also burned down.

District attorney John Champion said at a news conference that the horrendous murder has rattled the small community of Courtland. Champion hopes people will come forward with information that leads them to solve Chambers’ killing.

“In all the years I’ve been doing this, this is an absolutely horrendous, horrendous case. There’s just not a lot of street talk out there about who may or may not have done… we feel like somebody out there has heard something.”

Champion added that police know what Jessica Chambers was able to tell them before she died, even though it was very difficult for her. However, they are not commenting on the victim’s revelations or Fadel’s statements.

Meanwhile, the shocked family of the murdered woman is speaking out as they try to comprehend what happened to Jessica Chambers. Her grandmother, Dot Boatright, described the teen as “just a sweet little girl” and said she “went all to pieces” when she heard the horrible news.

Amanda Prince, who identified herself as Jessica Chambers’ sister, said the family is “shocked, lost… confused, angry, hurt. I have so many questions, I want to know why.”

Prince described Chambers as very athletic, outgoing, and loved by everyone. The murdered woman had just graduated from high school and was about to start her life as a nurse, dentist, or writer, her sister said.

“She was happy all the time,” Prince said. “She made everyone laugh. She lit up a room… She was just full of life.”

According to a report in the Inquisitr, Jessica Chambers’ friends accuse a former boyfriend of domestic violence against her. Police have not commented on the allegations.

KPLCTV reports an $11,000 reward has been established in the case. If you have any information that can lead investigators to find those responsible of the murder of Jessica Chambers, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-729-2169.
