Zooey Deschanel Sued For Poor Horse Treatment

New Girl star Zooey Deschanel is currently being sued for poor horse treatment. You read that right, according to TMZ, a horse owner is suing Deschanel over the treatment of a stallion horse who goes by the name of Literati.

So what kind of condition did Zooey leave the horse in?

Well, according to documents filed by Owner Patty Parker, she allegedly overworked the horse.

“Deschanel signed a horse contract… promising not to overwork [Literati] with restrictions that included “no more than 3 jumping lessons per week.”

But Patty says… when Deschanel returned the horse… it was a shell of its former self — “injured and unusable.” Sad.”

Here are a few photos of Zooey Deschanel riding.

It’s believed that Deschanel rented the horse for $13,000, and these accusations go back to 2013. No word on what the star allegedly did to the horse, even though it’s implied that Zooey had too many jumping lessons with Literati.

As of right now, Zooey hasn’t addressed these horse claims. Instead, she has decided to share her holiday spirit with a few tweets on Twitter.

When Zooey Deschanel doesn’t have to deal with horse lawsuits, she’s filming her sitcom, Fox’s New Girl. Last week, the show was up from the previous week, pulling in 3.29 million viewers. Coming off of last year’s downer season, critics hoped the writers would fix a few problems with the show. Hopefully, Mr. Belding as Santa cheered up a few spirits.
