Rainey Qualley, Andie MacDowell’s Daughter, Named Miss Golden Globe 2012


The Hollywood Foreign Press has just announced that Rainey Qualley, the daughter of Andie MacDowell, will be the 2012 Miss Golden Globe.

Rainey, an actress and musician, said:

“I am honored to be selected as the 2012 Miss Golden Globe. It’s very exciting to be a part of an awards show like the Golden Globes so early on in my career.”

President of the Hollywood Foreign Press, Dr. Aida Takla-O’Reilly, made the announcement. Takla-O’Reilly said:

“We are delighted that this year’s Miss Golden Globe is Rainey. She is a talented and beautiful young woman. We’re excited to have her as part of this year’s show.”

Andie MacDowell’s daughter isn’t the only celebrity child to be named Miss Golden Globe. Rumor Willis, the daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis was named Miss Golden Globe in 2009. Laura Dern (daughter of Diane Ladd and Bruce Dern), Kathryn Eastwood (daughter of Clint Eastwood) and Gia Mantegna (daughter of Joe Mantegna) have also had the honor of being Miss Golden Globe.

Access Hollywood reports that Rainey Qualley is currently working on her first feature film and is about to release her first album.

The 2012 Golden Globe Awards will broadcast live on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 8/7c on NBC. Controversial host Ricky Gervais will be taking the mic again this year.
