‘Today Show’ Steals And Deals Of Burt’s Bees Baby Clothes, American Girl Dolls, Jewelry, Clothing And Watches Causes Websites To Crash
The Today Show launched what they called “Jill’s Steals And Deals” on December 10, a page of deals on everything from American Girl dolls, jewelry, clothing, watches and more. According to the Inquisitr‘s article titled “American Girl Doll Sale From ‘Today Show’ Jill’s Steals & Deals – Special TV Offer With 60% Off American Girl Dolls,” only the American Girl dolls sale wound up on the Alexa.com “What’s Hot” list — an Amazon property — proving the popularity of the dolls.
Apparently, lots of Today Show fans are visiting the Today Show page titled “Supersized Steals and Deals: American Girl dolls, necklaces, watches, more” on Today.com, because the Today Show has added the following disclaimer about the availability of some of the websites found on that Today Show page.
“Due to an overwhelming response, some of these products’ sites may experience technical difficulties. Each company is working on resolving their technical issues. Check back here for more information on other ways to purchase them.”
Indeed, Google Trends reports the above Today Show link as their number one most trending link on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, with at least 50,000 or more queries coming into Google for the Today Show goodies.
The American Girl dolls fare seems to be doing just fine, with the TODAYDEC Today Show code offering discounts that provide these warnings to the American Girl doll website shoppers.
The Cutter & Buck Men’s Supima Cotton V-Neck & Half-Zip Overknits deal, with retail prices of $76 to $85 being discounted in the Today Show special price down to $21, shows a variety of “on hold” data at this writing for the up-to-75 percent off discount shirts that are had by entering the discount code TODAYSHIRTS on their website.
The Bliss Big 4 Body Butter Variety Pack, with a normal retail price of $116 and a Today Show discount price of $29, is doing well with their 75 percent discount, a website that conveniently pre-loads the discount code of TODAYD14 into the field when customers click their links.
The adorable Burt’s Bees Baby Everything You Need & More Gift Box, however, with a retail price of $74.95 being slashed down to a Today Show discount price of $22.49, shows that the Today Show discount code of TODAYBABY won’t work for everyone who adds that cuteness to their basket, because that’s when they’ll likely be met with a message that states “This item is currently not available,” such as this reporter received.
The popularity of these Today Show sales prove that shoppers are adept at getting their Christmas shopping done, and love finding great deals to do so. However, the unavailability of some of the Today Show offerings means some providers should’ve stocked up on inventory.
