‘Dragon Age: Inquisition’ Patch Not Likely To Release On Schedule For All Platforms

Many fans have been waiting for Bioware to release a patch for Dragon Age: Inquisition since the game launched three weeks ago. Wanting to keep fans aware of the their progress on the title’s first update, Dragon Age executive producer Mark Darrah revealed on Twitter that the developer’s initial goal was to have a patch ready to be deployed on all platforms on December 9.

It is now obvious that Dragon Age: Inquisition players will have to wait a bit longer for the game’s initial patch as that date approaches. Darrah has now confirmed that the upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition title update will not be ready for Tuesday’s anticipated launch-date on all platforms.

It is unclear if Darrah’s statement implies that users on select systems will still receive the patch for Dragon Age: Inquisition on December 9 as Bioware intended, or if the update has been delayed on all consoles. Informing players why the update still isn’t ready, the game’s executive producer later elaborated that the amount of work required for Dragon Age: Inquisition‘s first patch is simply more than the developer originally expected.

Darrah also reassured fans that there will still be several patches released in the near future. If the first Dragon Age: Inquisition title update doesn’t address a specific issue, users can be confident that Bioware will release a subsequent patch to fix additional bugs. One particularly well-known issue that won’t be fixed in the title’s first patch is a bug that is causing the NPC companions of Dragon Age: Inquisition to become abnormally quiet.

The Inquisitr previously reported that the developer has already confirmed that a solution to the party banter bug will not be included as part of the initial patch for Dragon Age: Inquisition. Bioware revealed that they have not been able to find a way to properly fix the issue at this time. Rather than making fans have to wait longer than necessary to receive the first title update, the developer has decided to wait until a later patch is released to apply a fix to party conversations.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is out now on Xbox One, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC. Despite Bioware’s intentions, the game’s first title update won’t likely launch on all platforms on December 9 as planned. However, the developer does believe that the patch will be ready to release soon. Fans can expect additional updates to be deployed over time as well, as the team is currently working on fixes for a number of the issues that players have encountered thus far within Dragon Age: Inquisition.
