WWE News: Roman Reigns To Replace Dean Ambrose At The TLC Pay-Per-View?

On this past Friday’s SmackDown, Dean Ambrose was carried out on a stretcher after an attack by Bray Wyatt, and after the show, WWE revealed that Dean Ambrose had suffered a crushed trachea.

“As you saw on ‘SmackDown,’ Bray Wyatt struck Dean Ambrose in the neck with a chair, and as a result of that, he had sustained brunt and crushing trauma to the front part of his neck. There are many vital structures there including the windpipe and the trachea. Our initial diagnosis was a crushed trachea with inflammation or a tracheal contusion.”

In real-life, a crushed trachea is a severe injury that can lead to death. With WWE announcing that Ambrose has suffered such a brutal injury [in storyline of course] this has led to the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Melter speculating that WWE will pull Ambrose from the TLC pay-per-view and replace him with Roman Reigns.

Reigns, who has been out of action after suffering an injury back in September, is reportedly ready to make his return to action, and is scheduled to return to WWE’s house show tour later this month.

It’s no secret that WWE is looking to make Roman Reigns their next main-event mega-star, so they’ll likely want to get Reigns back in the ring as soon as possible so he can shake off the ring-rust before the Royal Rumble event next month.

If Reigns returns, he’ll take Ambrose’s place as Bray Wyatt’s opponent, and the match between Reigns and Wyatt will likely be a one-off, and Ambrose will return at some point before the Royal Rumble to get his revenge on Wyatt.

There’s a pretty good chance that Ambrose will wrestle Wyatt at the TLC pay-per-view, and that Reigns will return later in the night, and cost Seth Rollins his match against John Cena.

At the Survivor Series pay-per-view, Reigns said that he would be back at some point in December, and rumor has it that Reigns is, as of right now, ready to return.

WWE could decide to have Randy Orton return at the TLC pay-per-view to get his revenge on Seth Rollins. So the decision is to either have Orton return in the main-event, or have Reigns return in the main-event.

Both Orton and Reigns aren’t advertised to appear at any WWE live events until later this month, but this doesn’t mean that either Orton or Reigns can’t make a surprise appearance at this Sunday’s TLC pay-per-view.
