New Video Game Releases For The Week Of December 7, 2014

Once again, the week is dominated by Sony and the steady stream of indie titles in our list of new video game releases for the week of December 7, 2014. A total of eight indie games are coming out on the PlayStation platform, while the Xbox is still struggling to put games on the table despite taking a commanding lead for holiday sales, as the Inquisitr has reported on previously.

The biggest video game release of mention this week is Destiny: The Dark Below. The first of two planned expansions for Bungie’s MMO first person shooter, The Dark Below is opening a set of new story missions as well as a strike and six-person raid. New weapons and gear will be available as well as three new crucible areas and a new Light level cap of 32. The expansion releases on December 9, and is $19.99 for a stand alone. It can also be purchased as part of the season pass, which includes the second expansion due out later next year, for $34.99.

Lara Croft is also getting a a new video game this week with Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, which is not to be confused with the old Warlock from Destiny. The game is a follow-up to the well received twin stick shooter, Lara Craft and the Guardian of Light. Unlike the previous entry, Temple of Osiris will feature the Lara Croft from the “Legend” timeline, which included Tomb Raider Legend, Tomb Raider Anniversary, and Tomb Raider Underworld.
