Pele Releases Video To Show Health Improvement

Pele has taken to Facebook to show his fans that he has made a steady improvement since he was hospitalized last month.

The Brazilian soccer icon even uploaded a video that showed him playing guitar, smiling, and laughing while still in hospital.

He captioned the post with the message, “Don’t worry. Thank you very much. I know everybody worried about my health, but I’m ok.”

During the message, he also declared, “I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you, from all over the world who worried about my health. Thank God, I’m fine. I have recovered, I’m here with my family.”

Pele then went on to tell his legion of Facebook followers that he can’t wait to join them at the Olympic games, which are set to held in Rio De Janeiro in the summer of 2016.

Pele spoke fluently in both Portuguese and in English while next to various members of his family.

He concluded by proclaiming to the world, “Thank you everybody who has been praying for me and my family.”

The 74-year-old three-time World Cup winner was previously admitted to Sao Paulo’s Albert Einstein Hospital on November 24. The legendary soccer star then underwent treatment for a urinary tract infection deemed so severe that he was moved to intensive care.

Pele’s ailment originally occurred following complications with surgery to remove his kidney stones. The original operation took place on November 13. Pele is currently still hospitalized and receiving treatment in a semi-intensive care unit.

According to BBC News, doctors also released a statement on Friday that confirmed Pele’s condition had improved, and that there weren’t any signs of infection.

Pele is widely regarded as the best soccer player in the sport’s history. He claimed three World Cups during his storied career. In fact, he picked up his first World Cup in Sweden in 1958 when he was just 17-years-old. Despite his relative infancy at the time, he was still integral to the Brazilian national side.

In 1962, he was injured for most of the competition, but still assisted Brazil to their second World Cup triumph in a row. In 1970, he led arguably the greatest national soccer side in the sport’s history in Mexico, as Brazil sauntered to their third World Cup in just 12 years.

Pele is also believed to have scored a world record sum of 1,281 goals in 1,363 games. This included 77 goals in 91 caps while playing for Brazil.
