James Franco Hosting ‘SNL’: Watch The Promo Mocking ‘Peter Pan Live’

James Franco is returning to Saturday Night Live this weekend to host the late night sketch comedy show for the third time as he promotes his newest movie with Seth Rogen, The Interview. Nicki Minaj is returning as the musical guest (for the second time). As MTV News reports, Minaj recently announced on Twitter during a Q&A this week that she will be performing the songs “Bed of Lies,” “Only” and something new off her upcoming album, Pink Friday.

Entertainment Weekly has posted a promo for James Franco’s SNL this weekend, and considering how much promotion NBC has been giving Peter Pan Live, it should be no surprise that part of the promo for Saturday’s show involves a nod to it. In fact, Franco even calls it “a little salute to Peter Pan Live” before he and Minaj do their little bit for it.

The series of promos continues with the host and musical guest showing how they are good friends in life with a special handshake that ends in an Eskimo kiss and “Besties!” It’s cute enough that it does work. You can watch the promo below.

ET Online has posted another set of promos for this weekend’s SNL shows the host with cast member Cecily Strong. In the first one, he ducks out to attend a class at Yale and shoot a movie, prompting Strong to tell him, “You are a man.” The other clips show Strong getting him into the holiday spirit, the two talking about why he keeps returning to the show, a gift exchange and his experimental side. Watch it below.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, there was a leak that revealed the production costs on James Franco and Seth Rogen’s latest movie, and it seems safe to say that that will be addressed in some way this weekend on Saturday Night Live.

Meanwhile, a new Epic Meal Time video stars James Franco and Seth Rogen. As part of the promotion for The Interview, in theaters December 25, they make Korean BBQ Lasagna, which The Huffington Post reports consists of bulgogi, pork belly, kimchi fries, gochujang (the devil’s ketchup, according to this weekend’s SNL host), kimchi bacon, kimchi pancakes and lasagna noodles.

The video says that the dish has 33,083 calories and 2,169 grams of fat, which just sounds like something you would never want to eat. While the video does show them eating, Huffington Post notes that “if you watch closely,” the actors “only take minuscule bites.” Watch it below.
