Female Officers Filmed In Submarine Showers, U.S. Navy Investigating USS Wyoming Video

U.S. Navy investigators are looking into allegations that someone had female officers filmed while they were showering and changing clothes aboard the submarine’s unisex bathrooms. Worse, it’s believed the video may have been distributed to some of the crew members of the submarine.

In a related report by The Inquisitr, a new Russian nuclear submarine is ready to launch, and it’s armed with 12 nuclear Bulava missiles.

The incident where someone had female officers filmed in the showers allegedly took place on the USS Wyoming, which is currently on deployment. It’s believed a hidden camera secretly filmed the women even though the bathrooms have a sign that notifies the crew that the bathroom facilities are being used by women. The U.S. Navy believes this hidden camera may have captured video of men using the bathrooms, but only the video of the women was distributed.

The U.S. Navy does not disclose the location of its submarine fleet when they are deployed, and it’s currently impossible to take anyone into custody. Although, Navy Vice Adm. M.J. Connor wrote that “an investigation is in progress” and the alleged perpetrators have been removed from the U.S. submarine.

“Incidents that violate the trust of our sailors go against every core value we hold sacred in our naval service,” he wrote according to WGAL. “We go to war together with the confidence that we can rely on each other in ALL circumstances, and incidents of sailors victimizing other sailors represent an extreme breach of that trust!”

According to KVOA, the female officers filmed may have been secretly watched for over a year. The U.S. Navy is already providing assistance due to the incident. Full integration of women into the U.S. submarine fleet began in December of 2011, and Connor believes this has been a success despite this incident.

“The Navy has successfully integrated women into our aviation, surface warfare and expeditionary warfare communities,” Connor wrote in the letter. “It would be inaccurate to say that we achieved this without incident, but I can say unequivocally that we are a better force because of that integration.”
