‘Terminator Genisys’ Trailer Released Online: Notice All The Details Of Arnold’s Return

Terminator Genisys has had its first trailer released online, and it’s a time warp trip like you wouldn’t believe. In the trailer, audiences get their first look at the new and old Terminators that are now dealing with how the future and history has changed.

Oh yeah, and guess who’s back?

That’s right, Arnold Schwarzenegger is making his return yet again and, as Hollywood Reporter stated, the hashtag of #HeIsBack is really meaning something this time. It’s not just a quick five-minute cameo at the end like in Terminator Salvation, but this one is important.

As you can see, it seems like there is a whole lot to learn about in the first trailer for Terminator Genisys, but there is more than you may realize. This is no reboot and it is no remake, but another film in the franchise. Sure, it’s connecting a lot together and going back in time, but that’s the cool thing about it.

Schwarzenegger’s return in Terminator Genisys is a great way to put him back into the spotlight of the franchise.

io9 actually went through the entire trailer frame-by-frame to pinpoint everything that happens in it. For those that may not notice, there is a lot of new stuff happening while old habits die really hard.

Or at least, they speed crash through a helicopter really hard.

In the trailer for Terminator Genisys, John Connor (Jason Clarke) prepares for mankind’s final battle against the robotic force, which is Skynet. That is, until he sends his great friend (and dad) Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back in time to protect his mother, Sarah Connor.

As Connor (Emilia Clarke) is shown, it’s not the same mild, scared, and meek woman we all first saw in The Terminator from 1984. She even proves it with her quote of, “Everything’s changed.”

With that, as soon as the trailer for Terminator Genisys, another poster was released online and it shows that our heroine is going to be pretty bad.

Don’t blink during the two-and-a-half minute trailer starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and a host of others. There are so many references to The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, and Terminator Salvation.

Make sure you pay attention to such things as the Terminator Time Machine. We’ve seen them arrive, but never how they travel.

The police officer chasing future Kyle Reese and old-future Sarah Connor is actually a T-1000. Yes, a T-1000 like the kind that was awesomely played by Robert Patrick in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Such a shame he couldn’t somehow be computer-generated to do it again.

You have to admit though that this is a much more advanced of the T-1000.

Yes, this is the original Terminator from the original 1984 Terminator but he’s new and still old. Did you get all that?

This guy obviously couldn’t hack it as the older Terminator actually killed the young terminator from the original 1984 Terminator. Chew on that for a bit.

Needless to say, this is going to be confusing and different all at the same time.

There are already some that are not happy with the new CGI and wish that the old footage from 1984 had simply been used. With today’s technology, there is no way that’s going to happen.

Terminator Genisys looks like it is still going to be good — and it’s going to be interesting. Arnold Schwarzenegger has officially returned and he’s got a brand new cast alongside him, but some old baggage to fight with. Once it hits theaters on July 1, 2015, it’s going to be true that #HeIsBack.
