Misha Collins returning to ‘Supernatural’ for Season 7

If while watching Supernatural this season you’ve been lamenting the loss of Misha Collins’ character, Castiel, you’ll be pleased to know that Collins is set to make a comeback on the show – and soon, no less.

The CW officially confirmed today that Collins will be reprising his role as Castiel starting with episode 17 of season 7, the current season. Not only will he be returning for that episode, but CW says he’s signed on for at least two more episodes during this season.

So how – and why – is Castiel returning, you ask? Well, we don’t know. CW was willing to announce that Collins’ character will be coming back, but the conditions surrrounding Castiel’s return is under wraps. To find out how it all happens you’ll have to wait until spring of next year, when the episode airs. That, or wait until someone leaks out the details.

If you absolutely can’t wait that long to see Collins in action, the actor is set to guest star on The Ringer opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar in an episode after the show returns from its current hiatus.
