Vin Diesel Still Affected By Paul Walker’s Death, Posts Touching Photo On Facebook

A year after Paul Walker’s untimely death in a tragic car accident, his co-star and friend, Vin Diesel still misses the easy going star and he shared a touching photo of his daughter and late friend on Facebook.

The Fast & Furious star — who has a whopping 88 million “likes” on his page — shared a sweet image of his daughter sitting on Walker’s lap, while the two look at something on Paul’s cell phone. Along with the image, Vin Diesel posted some heartfelt words a year to the date of the senseless crash that killed the 40-year-old actor.

“He was a part of so much in my life… long personal talks with my mother or babysitting the Alpha Angel… he took a certain pride in being uncle Pablo… after all, we were filming a scene in FF4 the day she was born, and he being the only one I told, encouraged me to go in and cut the umbilical cord.”

“He was an important part of my transition into fatherhood… that healthy family member, with the most positive outlook on life…”

“A year ago today… a year of mourning… and his absence still leaves me speechless. We miss you Pablo…”

It is no secret that Vin Diesel and Paul Walker — along with the rest of the franchise’s cast — were more than just co-stars in the successful films, they were more like brothers and had spent countless hours on and off the set. While on break for Thanksgiving, in 2013, Walker was killed in a fiery crash — along with his friend — while driving a race car at high speeds near Los Angeles.

The actor’s death left the cast and crew in shock and producers had to scramble to come up with a solution to the situation they suddenly found themselves in. After much deliberation, Universal decided that the best route was to finish with the latest installment, Fast & Furious 7 and retire Brian O’Conner, Walker’s character.

Judging by Vin Diesel’s emotional post a year later, it is clear that time has not erased the raw feelings left in the wake of Paul Walker’s death. By the sheer volume of “likes” the post has received — more than 2 million thus far — we can conclude that fans feel the same way.

Paul Walker had completed most of his scenes at the time of his death and his brothers Cody and Caleb were brought in to finish the job, so that Fast & Furious 7 could conclude production. Vin Diesel has used his Facebook page to chronicle his feelings about his good friend. We can see the final farewell of Brian O’Conner when the movie hits theaters on April 3, 2015.
