Eva Mendes And Ryan Gosling’s ‘Daughter’ Looks Terrifying [Video]
Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling are a notoriously private pair, so The Ellen DeGeneres Show audience was likely delighted when Ellen teased that she had procured a picture of the couple’s baby daughter.
Esmeralda Amada Gosling was born in September and, so far, the world hasn’t seen a photo of the little girl. DeGeneres got her fans’ hopes up about the prospect of getting a glimpse of the Gosling spawn, but she hilariously dashed them moments later.
“You have not shown a picture of her yet, but do you mind if I show the picture first?” DeGeneres asked Eva Mendes. The actress played along by saying that she sent the talk show host a picture of Esmeralda to share with the audience, and Ellen tried to prepare her viewers for one of the most adorable baby photos ever.
“Ryan Gosling’s the dad, so you can imagine how gorgeous this baby is.”
DeGeneres then flashed up the crazy composite photo below.
Apparently, you get a mini Bea Arthur drag queen when you combine Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes’ genes. You have to admit that Esmeralda’s brow game is on point, but she might want to do something about that mustache.
Ellen DeGeneres didn’t just make Eva Mendes pay for not bringing a baby photo to the show — she also accused the Training Day actress of being a liar. This is because Eva vehemently denied being pregnant the last time she was on Ellen’s show, even though she actually did have a bun in the oven. Eva Mendes also talked about what she did to lose her baby weight, and her explanation for why her body bounced back so fast was a bit bizarre.
“Breast-feeding — it really does help to shrink your uterus back to normal size. It does! I know it’s a really weird thing to say, but it does.”
Mendes revealed that she’s struggling with sleepless nights, so life is a bit rough right now. Eva knew that motherhood would be tough, so she came up with a way to make her pregnancy stress-free — she avoided the paparazzi. During a recent interview with Violet Grey, Eva explained why she decided to hide her expanding belly as much as possible.
“I know that it seems all very innocuous when you’re flipping through a tabloid at the doctor’s office or see a photo of a pregnant lady online, but I find the media’s ‘bump watch’ obsession to be both intrusive and stressful. So I made a decision to eject myself from it completely. I was like, ‘Annnnd I’m out.'”
Eva Mendes’ pregnancy didn’t just shock fans because she hid it so well — the star’s baby news was also a surprise because she used to insist that she didn’t want to have children. According to Entertainmentwise, the fear of not getting enough sleep was one of her reasons for wanting to remain child-free.
“I don’t wanna have kids… I love the little suckers; they’re so cute, but I love sleep so much and I worry about everything.”
According to Metro, seeing Ryan Gosling working with the baby actor in The Place Beyond The Pines (pictured above) may have played a part in changing Eva Mendes’ mind about having kids.
“He’s really good (with children). He loves babies and he loved playing with the little boy we used in the film to play our son. It was adorable to see him in that light.”
It’s a good thing that seeing Ryan Gosling’s paternal side made Eva Mendes want to be a mom — her genes are too incredible not to pass on, and Esmeralda probably looks more like a baby Disney princess than Ellen DeGeneres’ creepy composite photo.
