Mindy Kaling Fights With Her ‘Ex’ On Jimmy Kimmel

Mindy Project star Mindy Kaling visited Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday night and before her interview with Kimmel could ensue, an awkward and competitive moment of ex-bragging took place.

Mindy spotted one of her ex-boyfriends “Darren” in the audience, and shortly after — a post-breakup sin that many of us commit proceeded. He bragged about being a lawyer, and going to Ghana for charity work; and she pointedly emphasized her onscreen accomplishments, including being creator, writer and star of the Mindy Project.

The two continued to hash it out (with Kaling at one point “hinting” a relationship with Kimmel) until a frustrated Mindy ended the one-upmanship with her being the cover star of Southwest Airlines magazine.

Though obviously scripted, the scene does bring to mind one of those painfully uncomfortable ex run-ins where outdoing each other becomes an illogical top priority.

During her appearance on the late-night talk show, Mindy also talked about her love for Rihanna, and being mistaken for teenage Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai.
