Will Jared Leto be the next actor to play the Joker on the big screen?
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the 42-year-old actor was allegedly being targeted and eyed for a major role in Suicide Squad with many people claiming that it would be the Joker.
In a recent interview, Jared Leto had a chance to open up (sort of) when it came to confirming or denying his involvement in the film.
“I’ve sworn to keep my mouth shut.”
Jared Leto probably thought his kind denial to say anything further about the topic was an effective strategy for squashing the rumors and ending the speculation. However, chances are that those words will cause the exact opposite reaction.
That simple, yet profound statement will likely spark even more rumors and speculation about the Oscar-winning actor possibly putting on the iconic Joker suit for the 2016 David Ayer-directed film.
As soon as the rumors started circulating about Jared Leto possibly playing the role that won Heath Ledger a posthumous Oscar, quite a few fans and critics rushed to Twitter in order to express their approval.
Jared Leto is playing The Joker in the Suicide Squad movie. Definitely okay with that.

Jared Leto as Joker would definitely be as decent a follow up to Heath ledger as you can get.

Keep in mind that the role of Joker is not the only source of rumors that has been floating in recent weeks about the Suicide Squad movie. Other rumors include casting Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, as well as adding Tom Hardy and Will Smith to the ensemble as well.
Suicide Squad was not the only topic of discussion during the interview with Jared Leto. The Dallas Buyers Club actor also had a chance to talk about his highly-anticipated return to acting. For most of the past year, Leto has focused on his music career as the front man of Thirty Seconds To Mars.
In addition to his profound response to the Suicide Squad rumors, Jared Leto also explained his profound perspective on time.
“I think time is a way to have some sense of understanding and control in a universe filled with chaos. There’s a lofty, big conversation to have about time and the way we measure it and the tools we use to do that.”
Even though those words came directly from the mouth of Jared Leto, can you also kind of picture the Joker saying them as well?
